Description
It is always a good reminder that Alligators, Snakes and other wildlife are a part of everyday life here in South Carolina especially when you visit one of their Statue and Botanical Gardens and find the wildlife has taken up residence in one of the fountains and ponds in a public venue. I found this young gator, probably 3 feet long, snoozing in what is known as the Diana Pond at Brookgreen Gardens. Brookgreen Gardens is the most visited Gardens of it's kind in the USA. Usually the gators stay to the large natural ponds in the low country wildife areas, but every now and then they come into the statuary part of the gardens and always cause lots of excitement for visitors from throughout the world. Snakes in the garden ponds and fountains however are an everyday occurence.
